Artist Debbie Cook paints from the quaint surroundings of her 18th century country cottage in a North Devon village in England. Her contented, bemused and playful cats peer out from lushly painted garden flora and cottage settings. She began her career as an illustrator working in pastels creating portraits of dogs and children. Her artwork appeared on cards, calendars, stationery, gift-wrap, collector’s plates, figurines and other products. Harrods department stores in the United Kingdom and Sunrise cards in the USA were among those selling her products.

Today the artist works mainly in watercolor with detailed colored pencil over a painted wash. Debbie’s favorite subjects continue to be her pets, especially in garden settings and among beautiful fabrics. Her garden, which she enjoys tending, is a haven for wildlife and birds.
